An Introduction to ESG
WHO? For anyone currently working in the gambling sector ESG is the most important acronym of the moment. Any organisation must identify the key drivers across the acronym and must plan how to implement an effective ESG strategy. It is also important to understand who must drive this agenda across the organisation, including senior leaders, HR colleagues and all staff who work in the business. Participants on this ESG course will need to have develop knowledge of environmental, social and governance strands as well as learn the practical issues around implementing this successfully in your business. WHY? Auditing Your Business around ESG – Every business needs an ESG strategy and our introductory course is the best way of achieving this? Who do we trust to do this, what accreditation should they have and why must we tread carefully around ESG? Our introduction to ESG allows you to develop your company strategy successfully as well as understand how the three parts work both independently of each other as well as in harmony with your greater business targets. WHAT? Green Agenda – How well is the gaming industry doing in meeting the green agenda? Have lessons been learned from COP26? What are the key initiatives for the next ten years? Ethical Behaviours – There is a sharp line between what we have to do and what we should do? Legal Behaviours regarding governance – Crime, compliance and governance are key drivers in the ESB push. What should the industry be doing in order to ensure that it is adopting best practice in these areas? How to report on ESG outcomes
WHO? This Course is designed for the communications and sustainability teams who are charged with imbedding their organisation’s Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) strategies and initiatives. This high-level course will provide them with an informed roadmap to shape their ESG communications strategy and will enable them to tell their company’s ESG story effectively. The session is delivered by Gihan Hyde, Founder of Communique, UK’s leading ESG communication consultancy and one of the advisors to the ESG Foundation. WHY? The Covid pandemic escalated the importance for businesses to act responsibly. Without a clear ESG communication plan and execution, businesses will not gain and retain the best talent, will not attract more and better customers and will not be desirable for investors. The data is clear, 1 in 3 customers will only buy products that are sustainable, 84% of the global investors have redesigned their Asset Under Management portfolios into greener ones, 60% of Gen Z employees stated that they will not work for an organisation that does not have a clear ESG strategy. WHAT? Now is the time to consider what needs to be done to elevate and share an organisation’s ESG story. This course will include several case studies of the good, the bad and the ugly ESG communications initiatives. It will also look at the best practices to communicate ESG effectively, the best report writing practices, the best times to publish ESG reports, and the best practices to win the hearts and minds of the audience and employees. Managing risk in ESG
WHO? This workshop has been designed for C suite execs; General Counsel, ESG risk managers and compliance officers who are responsible for the implementation of ESG and for the effective and accurate reporting of the outcomes. WHY? The legal and regulatory frameworks around ESG are becoming increasingly tight. Your best ESG efforts could be in vain without understanding what could go wrong resulting in financial, legal, regulatory or reputational harm to the organisation as well as personal legal risk. WHAT? By exploring relevant case studies of corporate ESG failings as well as legal and regulatory enforcement actions around the globe this course will show you how to prevent Compliance failures and criminal behaviour impacting your ESG program. It will look at the essential role of the c suite and other senior managers as well as practical operational takeaways to consider in building an effective ESG program. Emotional Intelligence & Gender Equality Training
WHO? As the name suggests, the training focus is on increasing participation and engagement amongst adult men in the workplace on emotional intelligence and gender equality. We cannot address gender inequality without addressing men's role in upholding the current systems and social practices. The training is, however, important for everyone in the modern workplace so that men and women can address the key issues. WHY? The gender employment gap in the EU is 11.6% on average*. Even more concerning is the 32.1% of women working part-time at risk of poverty or social exclusion (in contrast to 8.9% of men) (EC, 2019). Closing this gender equality gap could lead to 10.5 million additional jobs by 2050 (European Institute for Gender Equality, 2019). In addition, greater gender equality in education can also affect gender equality in employment. WHAT? The course will focus on identity and nomenclature, address the five key areas of emotional intelligence before addressing how this impacts on gender equality in the modern workplace. The training is interactive, allowing participants to share their thoughts and experiences as part of shaping the organisational culture going forward. This will include aspects of behavioural science and change management. Responsible Leadership and Innovation Masterclass
The one-day master class is designed for individuals who aspire to be, or already hold senior positions as business leaders or managers In this master class, we will examine the application of ethics in a business setting. Our focus will be on sustainable innovation and maintaining commercial momentum, while also strategically integrating responsible leadership throughout the organisation. We will delve into the drivers of innovation and explore how they can be achieved in a responsible and sustainable manner. Implementing responsible leadership and sustainable innovation in a business setting can lead to long-term success while making a positive impact on society and the environment. Business leaders who prioritise ethical considerations in their decision-making can improve their company's reputation, build customer trust, increase shareholder engagement, and boost employee engagement and loyalty. This masterclass provides a deep understanding of the topic, alongside practical advise on how to implement this approach in an enjoyable and engaging manner. DEIB in the Workplace
WHO? The course is designed for senior leadership who want a more productive workforce through impactful culture change. The one-day workshop is designed specifically for those leaders tasked with carrying out measurable progress across multiple departments when it comes to DEIB, including HR and Senior Leaders. WHY? Diversity & Inclusion is becoming a business imperative and the case for progress is now irrefutable. Most businesses understand this and have added it as part of their overall strategy, but when it comes to implementation, many are left in the dark. Whatever your requirements, from equality strategies, to internal practice and policy, through to impact assessments and training we can support your organisation on its way to a more diverse and inclusive culture. WHAT? Diversity & Inclusion doesn't exist on its own and cannot be addressed as such. This course will look at various areas of the business, from recruitment and retention to closing the skills gap and developing new leaders to marketing and advocacy in order to achieve tangible results. The training considers why diversity is the key driver when linked to other key business areas. Learning Outcomes:
Why Good Governance Matters
WHO? With regard to good organisational governance, it is expected that Senior Leaders will be at the forefront of meeting this aspect of the ESG Challenge, and this training workshop is aimed at those wishing to get ground-level information on the key areas of developing strategy, implementing this on a company-wide basis as well as reporting on the key data and outcomes. WHY? Corporate Responsibility and Accountability are no longer simply desirable for a 21st Century company but are in many cases necessary legal aspects which must be observed. This includes a range of areas including compliance, anti-crime measures, transparency and board oversight. ESG has taken over from CSR as the most important three letter acronym in its vocabulary and measures should be adopted as soon as possible in all areas. WHAT? Many aspects of ESG include Legal Behaviours regarding governance – Crime, compliance and governance are key drivers in the ESG list of considerations, along with financial reporting, audits, shareholder rights and avoiding conflicts of interest. This workshop addresses what organisations should be doing in order to ensure that they are adopting best practice in these key areas. Developing a Sustainable Organisation
WHO? This training is for any CEO, shareholders, non-executive directors, directors, managers and employees of any businesses in the gambling industry. This training will help the management of a company to assess and understand their impacts and carbon footprint from all their products and activities, whilst also providing solutions on how to reduce their impacts and carbon footprint within their organisation. WHY? Businesses are crucial in the fight on climate change; therefore, it is vital that businesses are involved in setting the example in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The world has changed dramatically, and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) factors are driving the conversations with investors, shareholders, and consumers. This training course will help directors, managers, and employees to understand the new regulations and reporting requirements in the gambling sector. WHAT? UKGC - Light Touch Financial Checks and Financial Risk - A close look for your teams
Who? It is envisaged that this training will appeal mostly to Safer Gambling and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Teams in tier 2, 3 & 4 operators. Why? In light of the changes to gambling regulation in the UK from August this year, operators will be obliged to introduce new measures to lessen gambling-related harm from their player demographic. This will be in line with the LCCP’s guidance on policies, inspections, changes to player behaviour and more. Operators will be required to respond appropriately to any identified risks on a case-by-case basis, taking into account all the information they know about the customer. There is confusion amongst operators about what the requirements of the new light touch Financial checks are; what they need to do to remain compliant as well as the different timescales involved for implementation. For those operators who are clearer about the requirements there is a lack of awareness of what financial information is available, from what sources and more importantly how they should interpret such information. This lack of understanding and awareness puts customers as well as operator and personal management licences at risk. This training will help to prepare your safer gambling and AML teams for these changes. The training will also allow all staff to better understand the information they receive with regard to all these measures so that they are able to understand both the data and language employed. It will also help staff prepare for the subsequent introduction of financial risk checks and where appropriate the BGC interim code. We will also explore the synergies between the new financial checks as well as existing requirements for anti-money laundering (AML). What? This course has been designed by experts from the gambling and financial sectors in order to ensure your staff: ● Can understand and apply the requirements regarding the new light touch financial checks; ● Understand what information is available and how to obtain it through different sources; ● Are able to interpret and identify risks from the information obtained as part of the light touch financial checks; ● Are able to identify when more in depth financial risk checks may be necessary and act appropriately ● Understand the synergy with existing AML checks and act appropriately Over four interactive virtual instructor-led sessions (or the one day in-person option) you will have the opportunity to hear from the experienced course tutors; raise questions; enjoy fruitful discussion and leave with some key practical takeaways to help you and your organisation. The virtual sessions are backed up with self-paced online activities. Each Module will include: ● A short video introducing the topic ● A pre-recorded instructor training session ● Guided reading ● Consolidation of learning through assignments and scenarios There will also be the opportunity to engage in discussion forums to share ideas and identify areas for personal and organisational improvement.
